Late 70's in the midst of tremendous gang violence!
NYC gangs wanted to do something to curb the bloodshed.
This was the beginnings of Rap and Hip Hop.
Block Parties or Shows in the park.
Was a good way to get peoples minds out the gutter.
Whether it was the South Bronx Or Queenbridge.
This movement was formed simultaneously.
Dj's where a big influence early on.
The break beat was the backbone of the movement.
Then came the Emcee.
There introduction presented that fire that ignited the crowed.
All one need was a Mic Check 1,2 Are Y'all Ready To Party.
And from there, now to one of the most influential aspects of pop culture to date.
Although Rap and Hip Hop took a lot of jabs political wise.
It has stood firm.
Initially it was a way to end Violence.
